FBA Detroit Regional Conference 2018

The Future is Fiber

This week, technologists specializing in fiber gathered in Detroit from across the country. Rocket Fiber was thrilled to present the Fiber Broadband Association’s Regional Conference at the Greektown Casino-Hotel. The conference focused on how to create great digital infrastructure, communities and companies came together, learning how to deploy fiber broadband, and use that as a vehicle to spur economic growth.

“Rocket Fiber is proud to use fiber to bring both affordable gigabit internet services to Detroit businesses and its residents,” said Rocket Fiber Co-founder and CEO Marc Hudson. “This regional conference provides the perfect platform to highlight the importance of fiber in today’s technology-driven world, and we hope that the examples provided will encourage others to use fiber to upgrade their own communities.”

The conference brought in speakers from across the United States, who explored best practices for technology deployments and highlighted the strategy in building gigabit networks that facilitate the future of Smart City technology and Mobility.

Key speakers included Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley, who discussed the State’s investment and focus on creating a healthy ecosystem for the future of connectivity as well as Kurk Steudle, Director of the Michigan Department of Transportation, who highlighted the incredible pace of change in automated and autonomous vehicles—all of which are supported by fiber.

“This conference is packed with fascinating panels and opportunities for all of us in the fiber broadband space,” said Heather Burnett Gold, President and CEO of the Fiber Broadband Association.

Rocket Fiber sees that fiber supports the future of connectivity and allows Detroit a leading role in conversations involving technology.
