You no longer need a “cable” subscription to have a full range of TV entertainment programming at your fingertips.
Rocket Fiber has extensively tested many of the more popular streaming solutions that take advantage of our giga-speed network to provide optimized high-speed streaming paired with today’s HD and 4K TVs. Due to the capabilities of these new solutions and the accelerating trend away from traditional cable TV subscriptions, Rocket Fiber has decided not to continue developing a traditional TV offering over our network.
Discerning consumers can now opt into one of the many Over-The-Top (OTT) streaming providers and view local channels, network shows, live shows and even live sports for substantially lower costs than a typical cable subscription — with its multiple fees for service and equipment.
Additionally, a simple digital antenna and receiver can provide approximately 20 channels in the Detroit Market with no recurring cost. HERE is a link to the channels offered in Detroit.
Local Channels and Movie Channels are Available
Many new video services such as DirecTVNow, YouTube TV, Hulu Live and PlayStation Vue offer livestreaming options and traditional local TV channels that have been optimized over Rocket Fiber’s ultra-fast Internet connection. Smart TVs usually have many of these apps built in and almost every high-end TV sold within the last two years has smart capabilities. Many of the new services also enable recording options just like a cable DVR box.
Subscription options for video-on-demand services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu are available for fractions of the cost of a traditional cable bundle. These offer thousands of programs, movies, news and sports — often ad free — that can be viewed on any of your internet-connected devices such as smart TVs, tablets and smartphones or cast to TVs that may not be fully Internet enabled.
Many Options for Watching Major Sports
All the major sports leagues have subscription-based services that can be customized for your specific viewing habits. MLB and NHL offer MLB.TV and NHL.tv respectively. NBA has the League Pass. NFL has the Game Pass, which show replays of regular season games, and the RedZone channel, which live-broadcasts scoring plays and highlights from Sunday games. Golf enthusiasts can stream PGA Tour Live, and finally ESPN also has most of its content available through streaming.
There has never been a better time to “Cut the Cord’ and build yourself a customized TV experience free of fees, bundles and frustrations – all on Detroit’s fastest, friendliest and most reliable internet experience.
